WORD/PLAY (2024)

The pithy handmade word pieces in “WORD/PLAY” encapsulate Ivancovich’s cinematic style of craftsmanship. Using materials sourced from local LA stores, they allude to the art of the Hollywood poster but shatter its CGI-heavy rubric. While their filmic glamour may recall the sensibilities of iconic directors such as Quentin Tarantino, David Lynch or Pedro Almodóvar, their deadpan text serves as a contemporary nod to Warhol-era Pop Art. An ongoing series, these delightfully lairy prints can make any wall POP!
